Just a stone's throw from Bordeaux's historic centre, it is considered by Bordeaux residents to be one of the city's chic suburbs. With its reputation for tranquillity and good public transport links, the Saint-Genès district is renowned for the beauty and diversity of its architecture. Residents appreciate the warm, well-equipped green spaces, such as the Dames de la foi garden. The district is served by tramway line B and numerous bus routes (G, 5, 15, 23, etc.). There are plenty of shops nearby, including Boulangerie Maison Hermelin, Boucherie Maison Grenier, Papilles delicatessen, Racines grocery shop and Chez Georges (one of the best kebab shops in Bordeaux)
