The picturesque Upper Quarter, overlooking the harbour, is nicknamed "Little Naples" because the fishermen who live there are originally from the Amalfi Coast and have brought the whole atmosphere of southern Italy with them. It is the oldest district in the town and remains the fishermen’s quarter, where you’ll find many local characters and their favourite haunts (the Café Social is just 100 metres from the flat). It has also become a “haunt for artists” with their intimate studios. Expressive, cheerful and charming, it has retained the spirit of Sète.
