Monsaraz is a medieval hilltop village in the Alentejo region of Portugal, situated close to the Spanish border. Known for its impressive well-preserved castle, Monsaraz offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the Alqueva Reservoir. The well-preserved historical buildings and traditional Alentejo architecture, with whitewashed houses and narrow cobblestone streets, add to its charm. Located on the banks of the Alqueva Reservoir, one of Europe's largest artificial lakes, Monsaraz provides ample opportunities for water sports, fishing, and leisurely boat trips that can take you to the incredible Ilha Dourada. The river beach of Monsaraz is just a 2-minute drive away. You can also venture out for a hot air balloon flight, a romantic horse ride or a more adrenaline-fuelled ride in a TT. The surrounding area is ideal for hiking and bird-watching, characterized by rolling hills, olive groves, vineyards, and cork oak forests, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful rural setting. There are also activities for those who enjoy astronomy. The Alqueva Lake Observatory (OLA) is just a few minutes from the property and is the ideal place for astronomical observations, which will take you up into the sky. Monsaraz is easily accessible by car, located approximately 50 kilometers from Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Welcome! This beautiful 3-bedroom house in Monsaraz is the perfect retreat for families and friends looking to relax and unwind. Large 2 hectare plot with incredible unobstructed views over the hills and oat/wheat fields. The open floor plan allows for easy flow between the living, dining, and kitchen areas, making it ideal for socializing and spending quality time together. The house is beautifully decorated and features big windows that allow plenty of natural light to flood in, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. The living room features a comfortable sofa, a wide-screen TV to watch all your favourite shows and a dining table. The kitchen is fully equipped with essential cookware and cutleries that you'll need to cook delicious meals, such as a stove, an oven and a microwave. For added convenience, the house is equipped with a dishwasher to make post-meal cleanup a breeze. The property features a terrace and a garden with a seating area and a pool, ideal for enjoying the warm weather and enjoying a marvellous sunset over the horizon. Two bedrooms have a queen bed, and another double standard bed-size, all with complimentary hotel-quality linens for maximum comfort. The two bathrooms contain all the necessary amenities, including clean towels and complimentary toiletries. The property offers private outdoor parking on the premises, making it convenient for those travelling by car. At nightfall, a superb night sky awaits you. This property is a self-check-in property, and you will be requested to verify your identity before checking into the property. Once a reservation is confirmed, guests are requested to complete a guest registration form following the legal obligations stipulated by local authorities in Portugal. There is a zero-tolerance policy for smoking on the property. If our team discovers evidence that this rule has been breached (e.g., smoke smell, ashes, butts, etc.), we fully reserve the right to charge a €200 smoking fee at minimum. Please note that for stays longer than 30 nights, a fair use policy of the utilities will apply with a limit of 80€. For the first days, we provide the basic amenities: samples of shower gel, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, kitchen roll, sponge, dishwashing products and bin bag. Extra keys: 20€ (extra pair of keys when available, lost keys or service to open the door during your stay). Extra cleaning with linen: the price of a cleaning fee. Extra Clothing: 30€ (Towels and sheets for 2pax, i.e. when the sofa bed is not included).
