The surrounding waters form part of the Mar de Las Calmas Marine Reserve, making La Restinga one of the island’s best-known areas for diving, snorkelling and discovering its rich marine life. Beyond La Restinga, guests can explore the dramatic volcanic scenery of southern El Hierro, including the El Lajial lava formations and the scenic viewpoints of Tanajara and Las Playas. The natural pools of Tacorón are also nearby and are particularly beautiful for enjoying the coastline and watching the sunset. For a deeper insight into the island’s history, El Julan archaeological site is another interesting place to visit, while the wider island offers hiking trails, traditional villages and spectacular landscapes to discover.
